While standing in line year’s ago waiting to be served at a Post Office, I noticed what now sits on my desk framed. It reminds me of what it takes to push on. To take the right road and hang in there.
I think of:
The individual apparently blessed with talent who runs out of steam. Being in awe of the brilliance so often conveyed by the talented, yet who can’t control the simple tasks life demands.
The Genius who expects all to acknowledge their brilliance , but can’t tie their own shoe laces. The academics who teach MBA students how to be professional business managers. Yet to ask these lecturers if you’re such an expert, how come you aren’t a successful business leader? To know and not to do is really not to know!
Don’t be fooled by the noise of the so called talented, the apparent genius or the Professor of whatever. It sounds somewhat simple but more often than not when they are at the coal face of reality, they all “know a lot about nothing”. Their knowledge is valuable. Use it to your advantage, but it’s up to your ability to persist in your dreams and goals. No one else can do it for you.
It’s the determination and commitment to persist above all challenges that gets the individual to the goal they always knew was achievable.
